Welcome to Chemical Wedding. We respect your privacy and are committed to being transparent about what we collect and why.

How much we hold about you depends entirely on what you do. Browsing this website is anonymous. Buying a subscription or opting into our newsletter means we hold an email address and a record of what you bought.

Browsing the Website

You can read every page here without an account and without telling us who you are. We do not use contact forms, we do not track visitors for advertising, and we do not build profiles or buy data about you. The only thing we process is anonymous aggregate traffic (see Analytics below), which cannot identify you.

Buying or Managing a Subscription

Subscriptions are bought by signing in with Apple. Apple gives us an account identifier and an email address, which is whatever you chose to share with us: your own address, or one of Apple's private relay addresses that forwards to you.

Alongside that we keep a record of your subscription: which product it is, whether it is active, when it expires or was canceled, and identifiers that let us match it to the payment processor. We do not store names, postal addresses, or any card details.

Payment is handled by Paddle, our authorized reseller and merchant of record. Paddle collects the billing and payment information needed to take your money and charge the right tax, under their own privacy policy. That information goes to Paddle, not to us, and we never see your card number.

Newsletter

If you opt in, we store your email address along with the date you subscribed, so that we can send you product news and honor an unsubscribe. It is opt-in only, we never add you automatically, and every email carries an unsubscribe link. We do not sell or rent it to anyone.

Company-Licensed Devices

Some organizations license our apps across a fleet of company-owned devices, managed by their own IT team. On those devices there is no account and no sign-in. We store the organization's license key, the device serial number, and the times each device checked in. No names, no email addresses, no user accounts, and nothing that identifies a person: these are company asset identifiers held under a business contract.

How We Use It

• To unlock the apps and features your subscription covers.
• To let you see, manage, or cancel your subscription.
• To send you the newsletter, if you asked for it.
• To answer you when you get in touch.
• To tell you about changes to our services or to this policy.

We do not use your information for advertising, and we do not sell, trade, or rent it to anyone.

Who Processes It

We use a small number of services to run this, and each only receives what it needs:

• Apple handles Sign in with Apple.
• Paddle is our merchant of record and handles payment, billing, and tax.
• Supabase hosts the database that holds accounts and subscription records.
• Cloudflare hosts this website and provides the aggregate analytics described below.

Each is required to protect your information and to use it only for the service it performs for us. We may also disclose information if the law requires it or to protect our legal rights.

Cookies

We set no tracking or advertising cookies, and our analytics use none at all. When you go through checkout, Paddle may set cookies needed to process the payment and prevent fraud.

You can control cookies through your browser settings.

Keeping and Deleting Your Data

We keep your account and subscription record for as long as your account exists, since it is what proves what you bought. Newsletter subscriptions are kept until you unsubscribe.

You can delete your account at any time, which removes your account and its subscription record from our database. You can unsubscribe from the newsletter separately, using the link in any email. If you would like a copy of what we hold about you, or want it deleted, email us at the address below and we will take care of it.

Deleting your account with us does not cancel a subscription held with Paddle. Cancel that first, or contact us and we will help.

Analytics

We use Cloudflare Web Analytics to understand aggregate traffic to our website, such as page views and the number of visits. This service is privacy-focused: it does not use cookies, does not fingerprint or track individual visitors, and does not build profiles of users across sites. It only provides us with anonymous, aggregate statistics.

Third-Party Services

Our website may contain links to third-party websites. We are not responsible for the privacy practices or content of those external sites. We encourage you to review their privacy policies before providing any information.

Data Security

Account and subscription data is held in a hosted database with access restricted to us. Payment details never reach our systems: they are handled by Paddle, who are certified to process card payments. Traffic to this site and to our services is encrypted in transit.

Children's Privacy

Our website does not knowingly collect any information from children under the age of 13 (or the applicable age in your jurisdiction).

Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page with an updated "Last Updated" date.
